Professionally

Since the age of 16 I volunteered in law firms to build up experience and to understand the path that I wanted to follow in the field of law. I completed my degree in Law and Economics at the University of the North Weast where I was also involved in the newspaper committee and various other committees of the hostel that I lived in for a few years while studying. After I received my degree, I started to work as a paralegal and soon realized that becoming a lawyer is not the path that I wanted to follow and pursue. While working I obtained my advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Estate and Trust Administration at the University of the Free State. I then got promoted to being the executor of estates representative for the company at their head office in the Cape and got registered as a Fiduciary Practitioner of South Africa. It was there that I found my passion for helping other people and families throughout all different walks of life. My experience in managing estates and working with families in delicate situations built my experience to look at financial planning from another point of view. I then also did my Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning which is recognized worldwide and started to spread my wings towards the world of finance. My passion for helping others is matched by my fellow colleagues at Black Swan Capital Europe where I found my “work-family”.

Personally

I come from a small town in South Africa tucked between the beautiful Drakensberg mountains where I grew up with my parents, two younger brothers and a dog on each lap. I am an introvert by heart and recharge when I am surrounded by family and friends. My husband and I are both big “foodies” and our travel plans are therefore always centered around food and good pubs. I am very attached to my family and therefore have a soft spot and a passion for retirement planning for families like my own. I enjoy the small things in life such as a run with my husband in Den Haag where we live or a cup of tea and a fantasy book to read in the winter.
